Thanks heaps for all your replies. That was just normally driving to and from work, sport etc. I'm surprised I must say. I know that this has been covered before however I couldn't find a thread on the newer version engine. This would be my choice.
About chassis details responsible for road holding, handling behaviour and ride confort, the Defender 110 has Coil springs. What sort of fuel consumption are people getting on their 2. After reading this it seems that I must rather look for a decent Tdi. Pretty sure this has been done in the last few months, but I can't find the thread right now. Standard size road tyres and suspension.
I would love to see the engine data when hot. During the drive i only had the Waeco and fishing gear so nothing too heavy. I always fill the tank to a very similar level and alway reset the odometer. You have thread going somewhere with details? It is fast for a landy,ok! Every buyer must check Land Rover car history before getting a car loan or credit. Tdi like to overheat if not watched. I guess you need that to push along 33's and 2800kg, but at 10. All depends on what you want.
Frequent oil changes on the race cars, that is to say, after every race, actually started to cause bearing damage. I will keep you all posted on what the outcome is as I am sure that there is something going on in there. One of the small downsides of having the aerodinamics of a garden shed! On the caltex fuel this equates to about 550km out of a tank. So, i am now considering every 10 000km, but using the best oils, as recommended by this forum. Its an unusual smell to be honest. Even when the engine is hot the vehicle smells of quite a rich burnt diesel smell. Reason: trailers don't have mind resistance they have wind resistance I've got a 2.
We hope our car data will help you to make car buying decision. Expensive bits like fuel pumps, harnesses and air flow meters are basically service items and sometimes don't last long. Hi all This one should get some chit chat happening. Consumption can be affected depending on the way the car is driven. I'm the one that's surprised, I must say! Anything that I need to be careful of? I don't thrash it and pretty much stick to the speed limits and drive fairly conservatively but certainly don't dawdle along.
I have a couple of questions that I need answered. Just my thoughts Possibly the only vehicle on earth with better urban figures than open road. There are no leaks and the injector o-rings are new a new and the oil level remains regular. I don't know if you can economically overhaul a 2. If they don't want to go, they don't, and often it is not an easy matter to find out why, even with the computer and years of experience. You have thread going somewhere with details? Hope this helps, it is of course only my opinion, and it could be quite wrong! I think a 22ft is equal to nearly 7meters, that is a big ask. After reading your posts it would appear to me that I am using a bit to much fuel.
Not a fast or powerfull car, but very simple and reliable, with no electrickery. I was under the impression that the Tdi was replaced because it was a problematic engine. For one, a filter becomes more efficient when slightly dirty, so is 5k too short a distance? I am biased, of course, as a long-time owner of a reliable 300Tdi 110 which now has 270 000kms and has been no trouble at all, and has given 10. I like to change engine oils and filters every 5000 km. Expect to overhaul an old one, about R50k to do properly.
Chipped but I think there is an issue there but that is another story. Brand of fuel also seems to have an impact. I guess you need that to push along 33's and 2800kg, but at 10. My vehicle has travelled 86000km and is very well serviced. Any help would be appreciated.
It has standard tyres and no extra weight other than a tow bar. Get exact price from Jim. If you do not plan to use your Landy often, this may be a viable option. I am starting to wonder if the coolant temp sensor or the air flow meter are causing excesive fuel burn. Mine has now done 3500kms and so far the best I have managed is around 12. The Defender 110 model is a car manufactured by Land Rover, sold new from year 2010.
